17th June 2022: Dear Paul – I don’t know what to say: you were magnificent at Mum’s service this afternoon. From the moment we met you, you worked with our advanced plans for Mum’s service, giving us complete confidence that it was all achievable within the time we had at Upminster. The effort you put into reading the eulogy that Mum herself had written, was magical. Somehow, it all felt timeless, not a rush and, even though we were late to the venue, you moved over 200 people through the difficult and far-too-early farewell of our Queen, ending with some uplifting words for us to carry on celebrating her life afterwards. You really did her proud. B, V, A and families.

1st July 2022: Dear Paul…Your quiet efficiency, dignity, humility and professionalism have shone out over the very short period of just 4 days that we worked together for Dad’s Funeral at Enfield. You visited us the very next day, took on board everything we wanted to say, and then took on all 7 personal tributes to read, pulling everything together for us on the 3rd day so as we had a day free before the Friday…and what a great job you did at reading some very emotional tributes. Mum was so uplifted afterwards…it was the celebration of Dad’s life with all the family involved. We couldn’t have done all this without you. Love G and family.

It will have been lovely for the younger generations to hear, as they didn’t know too much about Mum’s younger years before coming to London. I also hope you like the small gift I gave you as a token of my appreciation for all your hard work. From David.
29th July 2022: Hi Paul. As you know, the minute we saw your draft for Dad’s service, Mum said it was absolutely perfect and we didn’t change a thing. 11th August 2022: Paul, your skills at working remotely with families in grief are second to none. From our first contact, you put us all at ease and bought Mum’s Ceremony together exactly has we had wished – and actually included every family tribute, where we thought you might just include a selection. But you sensed the importance of everyone having their part read, and built it all in. It meant so much to everyone and we can’t thank you enough. Love D, J S and our very big family.
15th August 2022: Paul – we just wanted to say thank you again for all your gentle understanding over the past two and a bit weeks leading up to Dad’s service today at Woodman Road. You’ve been so kind, and held the packed chapel and cemetery beautifully. From B, S, S and family.

The whole service was so lovely, emotional, but full of laughs and also deeply respectful, which Bill would have greatly appreciated. Love J, R and all Bill’s family and friends.
22nd August 2022: Dear Paul, We knew we were in safe hands from the time we first met you as you’d led another family funeral for us in 2021 – but I just want to say how beautiful your service was for Dad. Your perfectly written (and delivered) words bought together exactly the right mix of respect and humour that we wished to have for him. 6th September 2022: Hi Paul – I just wanted to say a belated thank you for the effort and love you put into my wife’s Funeral. It was amazing that I knew your Dad from his work – but didn’t know you, and we only found that out once we had met back in August. It bought me instant comfort and felt like a huge weight had been lifted. Thank you for your kindness in our meeting, and for all you did on the day. From P.
9th September 2022: Dear Paul. Thank you for all the hard work and time you so generously gave to us in brining Dad’s memorial service together at Greenacres. Your kindness, and un-hurried manner, coupled with your reassurance and respect made it a day to remember.
14th September 2022: Hi Paul. I could not have wished for our farewell to my sister, Karen, a local and much-loved Lib Dem Councillor, to have been any more perfect than what you helped us achieve for her. You led the service so well at Bentley – it was faultless. Karen would have loved you – and I know if she would have had any hand in choosing, she’d have gone straight for you. Love C, L and family.
13th October 2022: Paul, my BFF! This was the third time we’ve asked for you to support us in just 6 months as we laid another family member to rest – this time it was our lovely Mum. Just like before, we knew we could trust you and I have to say, you absolutely did her (and all of us) proud as we said our last goodbyes. We are so lucky to know of you. Love Alison, Janet and Julie xxx

Even though you never met Gloria, your thoughtful manner and kind words captured our mum so very well. Special thanks go to the way you read J’s poem so beautifully. From the bottom of our hearts – thank you. We wish you well for the future.
Kerry, Debbie, Barry & Tony.
31st October 2022: Dear Paul, We wanted to contact you and say a HUGE thank you for the amazing job you did in celebrating L’s life and for giving him a unique and wonderful send off. He would have ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!
So many friends and family have said that despite the circumstances, the farewell was extremely special. .and they’ve never been to anything like it – A true and brilliant testament to him… Happy, funny, sad, and full of cheeky banter and great music.
I appreciate that our side of the family weren’t technically your clients, but we all felt welcomed by you – and heard… Something we are eternally grateful for.
The family (as you know and like so many) are fragmented and grieving. No doubt you’ve seen it all before – but thank you again for your patience, genuine care and fairness.
We were extremely proud of how it all came together on the day and how the love for L united a packed chapel for his special day. That was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to deal with. Once again, many thanks for all the magic you personally brought to leading a very sad but very special day… It was unforgettable.
Warmest wishes always xxx
1st November 2022: Good morning, Paul. I hope you are well this morning? This is just to say, on behalf of L, C and myself, a big thank you for the service you gave Mum yesterday. The way you carried everything out was professional, and with the greatest of dignity. And this did not go unnoticed back at Mum’s house afterwards, as I had lots of comments from friends and neighbours on how you carried it out, too. They said it was so nice that it was clear and audible for those with hearing difficulties, which meant they could understand and hear everything that you said. So that was wonderful to hear. Once again, a big thank you for a very professional service to send Mum off on. I appreciate all that you did for us yesterday and wish you well going forward. Thank you. Mehmet.

I cannot tell you just how many people, family and friends, who have commented on how wonderful the service was. It was exactly as I would have wanted it to have been, totally personal, and a perfect reflection of my wonderful Mum. Not many people can reduce my friend Andy, the huge rugby player, to tears however that’s exactly what you did today. It was a wonderful, poignant service and Mum , who you’d met two years ago as we planned Dad’s service, would have loved it…Thank you so much Paul, Kindest regards, Nicola

The service on the day was absolutely beautiful – her brother and sisters appreciated every word – and, as you know, we raised a good laugh too about the ‘mending’ of Kevin’s socks! Best wishes for the future, Steve and family.
30th November 2022: Dear Paul, Darron and I just wanted to thank you again for giving Dad the perfect send-off at Forest Park this morning. I admit, we weren’t easy to get hold of for a while, but your gentle guidance and understanding helped us to achieve a ‘not too packed’ service, but rather one which genuinely honoured Dad’s life, his character and his beliefs. Your dignity and respect from our first meeting right through to, and on the day itself was superb. Your cadence, and the genuine love you put into delivering every word and sentiment, moved us to a level we never imagined. We both, indeed all, wish you every success for the future. Best regards, Russ.

And thank you again for phoning me, taking time to read through the whole service as I don’t have e-mail. With my fondest regards, B.

16th December 2022:
Dear Paul,
We all wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for the lovely service that you recently gave for Mum, Wife & Grandma, Christine. The service helped dad and our family start the healing process and the kindness you showed to Matt was amazing. The dignity shown and the time you spent with us before the service really helped to share a fitting tribute to her life.
I’m not sure of the etiquette of these things, but we would like to share with others our feelings, which may help others to choose to come to you to help with their needs. If there is a way that we can give a recommendation, please let me know.
Thank you again for everything you did for us during this difficult time.
Kindest regards
Chris
On behalf of Allan, Matt, Myself, Laura, Luke & Amy.
20th December 2022: Paul, We were so pleased that you were available again to help us say goodbye to Mum. Thank you, from all of us, for helping to give Ed the perfect send-off at Harwood Park.
20th December 2022: Paul, we all just wanted to say thank you so much for today: It was an amazing (and heartbreaking) service for our little J-Jay, but we could not have asked for a better person than you to send him off on his next journey. Everyone commented on just how fantastic you were, and Mike and I just wanted to thank you again. Lots of love, Marie & Mike.
3rd January 2023: Good evening Paul. Thank you again for all your help putting things together – summarising a lifetime into just a few minutes seemed like it should be an impossible task, but there was some nice feedback from people who attended, and N sent me some of the feedback that was posted here and there, and it seems like people who watched online also felt it was a good send off, so I suppose we can’t ask for much more than that.
I was honestly surprised how many people took a minute to write a note before they left. I suppose I shouldn’t have been really – there were people there who’d known him for years, but hadn’t seen one another in person in a while for various reasons. In any case, thank you for allowing space for that to happen – I think it may have meant more to some of the people there than I had expected it to.
Take care, Amanda
6th January 2023 Hi Paul, I would like to thank you for all the hard work and wonderfully delivered ceremony on Friday for Dad and the family. Janice and Rob xxx
23rd January 2023: Paul, Thank you for a lovely service for my Uncle Ray. Even though we never met until the day, everything you took the time to listen to me about during our phone call meeting was perfectly put across in the service, which was unhurried and loving. People – even neighbours who had lived opposite Ray for some 30 years – said they never learned so much about him. It made them feel so proud. Many thanks again. David.
31st January 2023: Just a note to say ‘Thank You’ so very much for making Michael’s Funeral so personal. The effort you went to…it really helps to accept that he is no longer with us. I have re-read your service several times since Tuesday – made me cry. But…it was lovely…the setting…Greenacres. He is outside with nature now. Life will be very different now, but I do have such support from the girls and family. Love, Lynne.
31st January 2023: Dear Paul. Just to say many thanks for such a beautiful service that you conducted on Tuesday at the City of London Crematorium for my sister Ann. And thank you so much for reading out my words much better than I could have done. It was a pleasure to meet you, albeit briefly. With very best wishes, Judith

2nd February 2023: Paul, Thank you for leading such a lovely service for Terry today at Forest Park. You received a lot of praise outside, and back at the wake afterwards. Thank you so much for your kindness, your time listening to us, and for being with us on the day. From Jean & Family.
8th February 2023: Dear Paul, I would like to thank you for being the celebrant at my father’s funeral yesterday. It was the perfect send off for my father. Thankyou for the kindness you showed to Gill, Peter, Mike and myself when you met with us and discussed the funeral day and what was to be said. I am truly amazed and really appreciate how you put together our rambling stories into such a perfect speech and the time spent on that. I am also grateful that you gave us an opportunity to read the speech first. It really made a difference to the day as I felt I could take in the whole event more easily knowing what was coming. I wish you best wishes for the future and again a big thank you. Kind regards, Jacqueline.
14th February 2023: Dear Paul, Many, many thanks for the superb service your led for Dad / Frank at Greenacres and Parndon Wood for us on Valentines Day. Your communication was superb and you brought everything together beautifully for us. We gave him such a brilliant send-off (no less than he deserved) from times of celebration and laughing at Greenacres, to our final, poignant goodbye at Parndon Wood. You did him proud. With love, Jan, Lynne, and Karen.

16th February 2023: Oh Paul – that was absolutely beautiful. From our very first contact, you were so kind and understanding – and that was carried through to the day of the service itself, and the lovely way you communicated Mum’s story. We couldn’t have asked for better – and can absolutely say that Mum would have loved it, too. With lots of love, Sandra, Linda, and Sid xxx
17th February 2023: Dear Paul. It was a shame that you were unable to come back to The Bull as there were so many people who wanted to meet you. Your ears must have been ringing with their praises! Though it might be a strange thing to say, friends were saying it was one of the best Funerals they have ever attended. Several didn’t even know about Greenacres, and have decided that that would be the place for them. I and my family didn’t get home until 8pm. It was a perfect day….and….you were BANGING! With love, Margaret xx
Separate Feedback for 17th February 2023: Paul – I was there at the service. You were fab, and just what was needed to capture the essence of Jim and the mood Margaret wanted.

We’ve never heard so many laugh at a funeral just as grandad would have wanted it – and we actually had family come up to us asking if you knew grandad as you said things the way you did. It felt like you’d known him for years. So again thank you. Love, Jane & family.
22nd March 2023: Paul – A big thank you for your kind help, sound guidance and on-the-day support and re-assurance for Mum’s Funeral. Your kind offer to show A around the chapel a few minutes before to settle her nervousness was very much appreciated – and, as you saw, worked a treat. Kindest regards, R P and families.
23rd March 2023: Dear Paul: Your service for Tony was just superb. So many people commented on your presence, and how you didn’t just ‘fade into the background’ You realised exactly what was needed – and the whole 45 minutes was superbly ‘bookeneded’ by your warm words of welcome and closing. We will always be forever grateful for your patient guidance. J, S, and family.

3rd April 2023: Dear Paul, I would like to say a big ‘thank you’ for the wonderful service you put together for Cliff at Cam Valley Crematorium on Monday. It was very fitting, and he would have been very happy with how everything went. I was really surprised with how many people came to give their respects, and everyone praised just how beautifully you conducted the entire service. For many, it was their first experience of a Celebrant-led Funeral – and one person remarked that they loved how it was much more about Cliff and his character. Many people left with tears flowing freely at your final bow together with the Funeral Director, perfectly and seamlessley choreographed by you to end with the fianl words of our favourite song. Thank you again (from all the family). Jan.

3rd May 2023: Paul – what a superb service you led for our dear friend, G. From the word go, you gave us confidence, and were so inclusive with your ideas and suggestions to make many of G’s friends, for whom English was not their mother tongue, feel so included. Your dual English / Spanish words of committal were so poignant, and we know G would have loved all that we did for her. You helped to bring all our ideas to life. With love, K, J, S & A

With fond regards, N, J & family.
17th May 2023: Paul, you have been truly wonderful from the first moment we were in contact. Reassuring, friendly, and someone who took such an interest in all aspects of my Dad’s life, turning it into the most loving service for him as we said our farewells in the late spring sunshine at Upminster. With many thanks, Susan.

22nd May 2023: Paul – Thank you so much for being our Celebrant at the huge gathering we had for our Kirst at Greenacres Kemnal Park. You supported me to deliver the difficult parts of the service as she was such a close friend, and I felt we really became a team on the day. Not only did you provide tonnes of reassurance, but your own words and sense of calm helped it to be the huge celebration of life we’d had planned. All bought together in a week, every single facet went perfectly on the day. You are a really good Celebrant. Love B & L
26th May 2023: Paul, we’d like to thank you for a lovely service at Greenacres for K – and for making such a difficult time so much easier. Best wishes, E.
